南九州市知覧の観光施設や店舗で、ひな人形を飾る「知覧のひなまつり」が開かれている。風情ある伝統的な街並みを散策しながら、かわいらしく色彩豊かな人形たちを楽しめる。３月１７日まで。
２、３日には知覧武家屋敷庭園でイベントがあった。着物での来園者が入園無料になったほか、西郷恵一郎庭園で着物・よろいかぶとの無料試着、ぜんざい振る舞いなどがあった。

Chiran Doll's Festival
An event for the traditional Doll's Festival, "Chiran no Hina Matsuri" is being held at tourist facilities and shops in Chiran, Minamikyushu City. People can come across the charming colourful dolls as they enjoy walking around the historical town. The event will run until March 17.
There were some events at Chiran Samurai Residences Gardens on March 2 and 3. Admission to the gardens was made free for those who wore a kimono. At Saigo Keiichiro Residence Garden, visitors were able to try on kimonos and armour free of charge, and were offered zenzai--sweet bean soup with mochi rice cakes--.
