鹿児島市の平川動物公園の動物たちは３月３日、節分にちなみ恵方巻きや枝豆などを堪能した。来園者らは「楽しい春が迎えられそう」と喜んだ。
チンパンジー舎では雄のラルゴ（年齢不詳）、ケイ（２２歳）に恵方巻きをプレゼント。２頭を担当する小村圭さん（２７）が、キャベツやニンジン、魚肉ソーセージなどの好物を焼きのりでまき、米飯は好まないため、食パンで代用した。

Sharing fortune with zoo animals...
On March 3, animals at Hirakawa Zoological Park in Kagoshima City enjoyed special seasonal food such as Ehou-maki rolls and Edamame green soybeans that are related to Setsubun--the day before the beginning of spring according to the lunisolar calendar.
At the Chimpanzee house, male chimpanzees Rarugo (age uncertain) and Kei (22) were treated to Ehou-maki. The keeper of the two chimps, Mr. Komura Kei (27), rolled up their favourite foods such as cabbage, carrot and fish sausages with roasted nori laver, while using sliced bread instead of rice, which they dislike.
