Ibusuki locks on foreign tourists
Ibusuki City, which has been attracting an increasing number of foreign tourists, has created a sightseeing brochure and a map in English, Korean, and Chinese (both in simplified and traditional characters). It will publish 10,000 copies in each language and will distribute them at tourist bureaus, hotels, and local branch offices of the national and prefectural governments.
The newly-published pamphlet and map contains a variety of information, including everything from how to take hot springs or sand baths to the new local cuisines such as "On-tamaran-don," a rice bowl covered with a half-boiled egg; to information regarding scenic places such as Cape Nagasakibana, and Lake Ikeda, as well as cultural facilities like Satsuma Densho-kan museum. Along with a photo, it also mentions the bronze statue of Princes Atsuhime that was built in September.
