鹿児島市は、道路標識の寸法や道路の構造基準のうち、市条例で定めることができる基準の素案をまとめた。狭い道路に対応し、標識の一部の寸法を国の基準の２分の１まで縮小できるようにするほか、歩道の段差では国の基準よりも厳しい独自基準を盛り込む。
市は道路に関する条例を新たに３つ制定し、来年４月施行を目指す。１０月２５日まで市民の意見を受け付けるパブリックコメントを実施する。

Kagoshima City to OK mini road signs
Kagoshima City has compiled drafts of criteria of the size of traffic signs and road structure that can be determined by the city ordinance. The city will allow part of the dimensions of road signs shrunk up to half those of the national standard in accordance with narrow roads, while it will also establish stricter rules on the grade level of sidewalks than those set by the national government.
The city will newly enact three ordinances concerning the road and aim to enforce them in April next year. It will hear public comments until October 25.
