８月１９日、鹿児島市西伊敷３丁目の伊敷中央公園で恒例の中国長沙友好花火大会があり、会場は心地よい興奮に包まれた。
日中の友好を深めようと１９８６年に始め、同地区の夏の風物詩となっている。花火は長沙市から輸入した中国製で、ごう音と打ち上がる勢いの良さが特徴という。
流れ星をイメージしたものなど３２種が登場。「祝３０周年」と友好盟約を祝福する文字の仕掛けも披露され、歓声が上がった。

Friendship sparks at fireworks festival
On August 19, there was the annual China Changsha Friendship Fireworks Festival at Ishiki Chuo Park in 3-chome, Nishiishiki, Kagoshima City. The venue was filled with an excited yet pleasant mood.
The event began in 1986 with the aim of deepening friendship between Japan and China and has been the annual summer feature of the district. The Chinese-made fireworks are imported from Changsha City, which are said to be characterised by roaring sounds and speedy ascensions after the launch.
Along with a total of 32 types of fireworks, they featured a set piece that read "30th Anniversary Celebration" to celebrate the friendship pact, drawing applause from the spectators.
