鹿児島カップ火山めぐりヨットレース実行委員会（会長・森博幸鹿児島市長）は４月１８日、市役所で会合を開き、第２３回大会を「霧島錦江湾国立公園誕生記念」と銘打ち、７月１３～１８日に開催することを決めた。北埠頭（ふとう）が鹿児島新港改修工事の影響で使えないため、大会本部やヨット係留、関連イベント「錦江湾潮風フェスタ」開催地をマリンポートかごしま（人工島）に変更した。参加艇は６月から募集する予定。

Kinko Bay yacht race to be held July 13-18
Kagoshima City council election for the next term, in which 50 seats were contested, was held on April 15, and the vote was counted from 9:30pm on the same day.
The Democratic Party of Japan, which had its first municipal election since the regime change, lost two seats but captured three due to the backlash against the ruling party.
Voter turnout was 47.83%, a decline of 2.14 points from 49.97% in the previous election in 2008, to mark the lowest rate ever.
The number of eligible voters on the day was 479,331 (217,227 men and 262,104 women) of which 229,260 (102,783 men and 126,477 women) took part in the ballot.
