鹿児島市立美術館は１０月２６日に開く無審査の美術展「ミュージアムパーク」への出展を呼びかけている。未発表の自作ならジャンルを問わず誰でも無料で参加でき、全作品を同館前庭に展示する。来場者による人気投票と同館選定の各１点には５万円を贈り、館内で１１月３日まで展示する。

I WANT YOU! for the amateur art show
Kagoshima City Museum is inviting participants for a non-judged art exhibition called ‘Museum Park’ which will be held on October 26. The show is open to anyone and any genre free of charge as long as the pieces are unpublished, and all the works will be on display in the museum’s front yard. Of those, two pieces will be selected by a visitor’s popularity pole and by the museum respectively, each of which will be awarded fifty-thousand yen and will be exhibited inside the gallery until November 3.

‘Kagoshima … exhibition’ は「鹿児島市立美術館が無審査の美術展への出典を呼びかけている」。‘invite’ は「〈人が〉〈人〉を・・・に招待する；〈人が〉〈意見・寄付など〉を〔・・・に〕求める、請う、促す；〈人〉に・・・するように勧める、依頼する」。‘non-judged’ は「無審査の（non-juried）」。‘exhibition’ は「展覧会、展示会」。‘called …’ は「・・・と呼ばれる」。‘which … 26’ は「１０月２６日に開催される」。‘(be) held’ は「・・・が開催される（take place）」。



“The show is open to anyone and any genre free of charge as long as the pieces are unpublished, and all the works will be on display in the museum’s front yard.”


‘The … genre’ は「その展示会（「ミュージアムパーク」のこと）は誰でも、どんなジャンルでも参加できる」。‘(be) open to …’ は「公開の；〔・・・に〕出入り［使用、参加］自由の、〔・・・に〕開かれた」。‘free of charge’ は「無料で（for free, for nothing）」。‘as … unpublished’ は「それらの作品が未発表であれば」。‘as long as’ は「・・・さえあれば、・・・である限りは」。‘unpublished’ は「未発表の」。‘(be) on display’ は「展示される（exhibited, displayed, shown）」。

‘Of those’ は「その内（出品された全作品中）」。‘two … respectively’ は「２作品が来場者による人気投票と同館によりそれぞれ選定される」。‘popularity pole[vote]’ は「人気投票」。‘respectively’ は「それぞれ」。‘each … 3’ は「（選ばれた）どちらの作品も５万円が贈られ、美術館内で１１月３日まで展示される」。‘award’ は「〈人が〉〈人〉に〈賞として〉・・・を与える、授与する」（発音注意〈アウォード〉）。‘exhibit’ は「・・・を展示する、陳列する（display, show）」。



タイトルの “I WANT YOU! for the amateur art show”　は「アマチュア芸術展　君の参加を待っている！」。
これは ‘Uncle Sam’ と呼ばれる、シルクハットにあごひげを生やした男がこちらに向かって人差し指を突きつけているポスターで有名な、アメリカ軍の新兵募集のキャッチコピー　‘I WANT YOU! for the U.S. ARMY’ のパクリです。特に意味はありません。
