鹿児島県内の商店街が地元特産品を使った食の味を競う「Ｓ－１グルメグランプリ」本大会は２月１８、１９日、鹿児島市で開かれ、枕崎市通り会連合会の「枕崎鰹船人（かつおふなど）めし」がグランプリを獲得した。２位は志布志市の「志布志黒豚バルク丼」、３位は指宿市の「温たまらん丼」だった。
枕崎鰹船人めしは、カツオやカツオみそに最高級の本枯れ節で取っただし汁をかけた丼。同連合会の加藤隆一会長（５６）は「町を盛り上げようという思いでやってきた。みんなの輪の勝利」と喜んだ。３月から市内の各飲食店で提供を始めるという。

Makurazaki wins gourmet GP
“Makurazaki Katsuo-Funato Meshi” produced by Federation of Makurazaki City Shopping Street Association captured the prize at the final round of “S-1 Gourmet Grand Prix,” a local-specialty-food contest among shopping districts in Kagoshima Prefecture that took place in Kagoshima City on February 18 and 19. Second place was taken by “Shibushi Kurobuta Bulk-don” of Shibushi City; and third place by Ibusuki City’s “On-Tamaran-don.”
Makurazaki Katsuo-Funato Meshi is a donburi (rice bowl) dish in which Katsuo bonito and bonito-flavoured miso bean paste top off a bowl of rice along with soup made from highest quality “honkarebushi” mold-dried bonito. Chairman of the federation, Mr. Kato Ryuichi (56), expressed his delight saying that it was the triumph of teamwork as everyone had worked in the same spirit of revitalising the town. They will start serving the prize-winning dish at restaurants in the city from March.
