Political funds report 2010
Kagoshima Prefecture Electoral Management Committee on November 29 released an income and expenditure report of political groups in the prefecture--including political parties and other political organisations-- for fiscal year 2010 based on the Political Funds Control Law. Although there was an election for the House of Councillors in 2010, both the income and outgo had decreased from 2009 when a Lower House snap general election was held.
Among the revenue received by “political parties,” the main opposition Liberal Democratic Party had earned 756,818,731 yen, which was 89.55% of the previous year’s earnings, while the ruling Democratic Party of Japan saw a 41.87% growth at 203,737,903 yen. Among the sources of revenue, the DPJ surpassed the LDP in terms of the amount of subsidies (including party subsidies), which reflected the regime change in the same year.
