「篤姫」効果薄し
日本銀行鹿児島支店は３日、ＮＨＫ大河ドラマ「篤姫」による１－７月の県内経済効果は１７１億円で、「昨年１０月の試算より伸び率が低い」とする中間評価を発表した。同支店は「例年観光客が増える１１月の動向が重要になる」と話している。

‘Atsuhime’ effect not as expected
On September 3, the Bank of Japan’s Kagoshima branch office announced an interim appraisal of the economic effects in the prefecture during the January-July period thanks to the current TV drama ‘the Princes Atsuhime’ that features a locally-born princess. The bank’s estimate of 17.1 billion yen was lower than its preliminary calculation last October. The authority said they will closely watch the trend in November when the prefecture sees many visitors.

‘The … November’ は「当局（日銀鹿児島支店のこと）は１１月の動向に注目すると言った」。‘authority’ は「権威、権力；当局〔しばしば the ~ies〕」。‘trend’ は「傾向、動向、風潮；流行」。‘when … visitors’ は「（１１月は）県に多くの観光客が訪れる」。‘see’ は「・・・の訪問を受ける」のような意味でも使われます。
