Junior merchants gather in Usuki
“Junior High School Students Merchants Championship” (sponsored by Usuki Shopping District Promotion Association), where junior high school students compete on the sales at their own booth, took place on August 6 at Wakita Park in 3-chome, Usuki, Kagoshima City.
Thirty students from three junior high schools took part in the event, and were divided into ten teams. They sold their own products after having processed and added profit margins to the goods they had bought with gift coupons worth 15,000 yen to be used in the shopping street.
Team “Biotechnology”, consisting of students from Murasakibaru Junior High School, who had been participating in the event since last year, sold out all its goods within the time limit and secured a profit of more than 3,200 yen to have increased dramatically from the previous year. The group leader, Mr. Yoshimura Takumi (14), expressed his delight saying: “We set clear numerical targets since when buying the materials and that worked well”.
