Many express “Shinkansen effect” limited
According to the result of a questionnaire on the effect of the opening of the entire Kyushu Shinkansen Lines for medium-sized and small companies, compiled by Japan Finance Corporation’s three Kagoshima branch offices, those who answered “Plus” stood at merely 13.8% compared to 75.2% who replied “remains the same”. The Treasury analysed: “Partly due to the effects of the Great East Japan Earthquake, there have not been any clear results from the opening of the train lines”.
The ratio of enterprises who “made preparations” toward the completion of the limited express lines was 10.6%, of which 65.4% mentioned they had “Plus” results. Meanwhile, 74.5% of businesses said they “didn’t prepare, and have no plan in the future”.
