鹿児島市の夏の風物詩「おぎおんさあ」の宵祭が７月２３日、同市の天文館一帯やＪＲ鹿児島中央駅周辺であった。大人の男女が担ぐみこし計４基が登場。法被や締め込み姿にいでたちをそろえた計約４５０人の担ぎ手が、威勢のいい掛け声を響かせながら、夕暮れの繁華街を練り歩いた。
２４日の本祭ではみこしや稚児花籠、御所車など約２０００人から成るご神幸行列が電車通りの高見馬場－朝日通りの間を巡幸した。同区間は午後２～６時、歩行者天国になった。

Ogionsaa festival
The Eve of Kagoshima City’s annual summer festival, Ogionsaa, took place in Tenmonkan and JR Kagoshima Chuo Station areas on July 23. A total of four portal shrines carried by some 450 men and women in loincloths or happi coats paraded through the busy streets against the evening glow while calling out high-spirited chants.
In the main festival on July 24, Goshinko Groretsu--or parade of Shinto priests, consisting of around 2,000 people who carried portable shrines, children’s flower basket palanquins and imperial carts--toured along the tram lines between Takamibaba and Asahi Dori stops. The section was made vehicle-free between 2 and 6 pm.
