鹿児島県は７月１日、公式ツイッターの運用を開始した。初日は、福島第１原発事故を受けた放射線調査結果や熱中症の注意喚起、県職員採用試験など、県民の関心が高い情報を発信した。
開設したのは、県危機管理防災課が災害発生や警報などを伝える「鹿児島県危機管理局」、県広報課が知事会見の内容などを伝える「鹿児島県政情報」、離島での各種イベント情報などを伝える「鹿児島県企画部離島振興課」の三つのページ。いずれも災害時などを除き、原則、平日の午前８時半～午後５時１５分、不定期に発信する。県ホームページからアクセスできる。

Kagoshima Pref. starts to tweet
Kagoshima Prefecture launched its official Twitter page on July 1. On its first day, it sent out information of high interest to its citizens: the results of a radiological survey in response to the accident at Fukushima No.1 nuclear power plant, information calling for attention against heat stroke, and information about the prefectural government’s employment examination, among other notifications.
The authorities have set up three pages; “Kagoshima Prefecture Emergency Services” which is operated by the prefecture’s Crisis Management Bureau that dispatches updates on natural disasters or warnings, “Kagoshima Prefecture News” by the PR Department reporting the Governor’s statements to the press, and the “Kagoshima Prefecture Planning Department’s Remote Islands Development Division” that carries information about various events on its remote islands. In principle, each site will tweet irregularly between 8:30 am and 5:15 pm except in the case of disasters. The services are available from the prefecture’s website.
