福島第１原発事故を受け、中国が実施している日本産食品の輸入規制をめぐり日中協議が難航している問題で、鹿児島県は６月２１日、県内から中国への焼酎輸出が中断したままであることを明らかにした。
県は東日本大震災前の焼酎の中国向け輸出量を公表していないが、輸出に詳しい関係者によると、県内２５社以上が毎月５合瓶（９００ミリリットル）換算で合計２万本程度を輸出していたとみられる。
原発事故後、ＥＵや韓国、マレーシア、シンガポールなどへも一時輸出できない状態となったが、原産地証明書などを提出すれば通関できるようになった。

China’s ban on shochu sobering for Kagoshima
In the aftermath of the stalled negotiation between Tokyo and Beijing over China’s ban on Japanese food imports after the accident at Fukushima No.1 nuclear power plant, Kagoshima Prefecture revealed on June 21 that its suspension of shochu liquor exports to the country had been continuing.
Although the prefecture has not disclosed the volume of exported sweetpotato-made spirits to the Chinese couterpart before the great disaster, according to a person versed in exportation, more than 25 companies across the prefecture are believed to have shipped a total of around 20,000 bottles worth of shochu monthly in 900 ml coutainer terms.
After the nuclear crisis, overseas-exports to places such as EU, South Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore had also been temporaerily suspended; however, they can now clear customs with the submission of certificates of origin among other documents.
