都市緑化かごしまフェア開幕

全国都市緑化かごしまフェア（鹿児島県、鹿児島市など主催）が３月１８日、同市の吉野公園や鹿児島ふれあいスポーツランドなどで開幕した。
「南からの風にのせて よかまち、よか花、よか緑」をテーマに、約９００種・１１０万株以上の花と緑が、主会場や県内各地の回遊拠点を彩る。５月２２日まで。
同フェアは毎年、全国各地で開催され、鹿児島では初めて。東日本大震災に配慮し、オープニングセレモニーは中止された。

Kagoshima in bloom
The National Urban Greenery Fair in Kagoshima, sponsored by Kagoshima Prefecture, Kagoshima City, among others, opened at several venues such as Yoshino Park and Kagoshima Fureai Sports Land in Kagoshima City on March 18.
Under the theme of “Ride upon the Southern Winds--Fabulous City, Lovely Flowers, Lush Greenery,” a total of around 900 from 1,100,000 plant and flower varieties are on display at the main and satellite venues across the prefecture. The flower festival will run until May 22.
The fair has been held annually throughout the nation, and this is the first time for Kagoshima. The opening ceremony was cancelled in consideration of (the victims of) the Great East Japan Earthquake.
