鹿児島湾を周遊する鹿児島市の桜島フェリー「よりみちクルーズ」の本格運航が３月１０日始まり、第１便で新船「桜島丸」（愛称サクラエンジェル）が就航した。約３００人が５０分の船旅を楽しんだ。
就航式が鹿児島港であり、藤山浩二船長は「国内最大のスーパーエコシップ（電気推進船）で快適な船旅の提供に取り組んでいく」とあいさつした。船上で観光ボランティアガイドの案内もあった。
毎日午前１１時５分出港する。大人５００円、小学生以下２５０円。市船舶部＝０９９（２９３）２５２５。

Enjoy slow cruise around Kinko Bay
Kagoshima City launched the full-scale operation of “Yorimichi Cruise (a side trip cruise)” on its Sakurajima Ferries on March 1. Around 300 people enjoyed the inaugural fifty minute cruise aboard the newly built “Sakurajima Maru”, which is nicknamed “Sakura Angel”.
During the inauguration ceremony held at Kagoshima Port, the ship captain, Mr. Fujiyama Koji, made an address and said he would work to provide a pleasant voyage on the nation’s largest electrically propelled ship known as “Super Eco Ship”. There was also guidance by volunteer guides on the ferry.
The excursion ship leaves the port at 11:05 a.m. every day. The fare is 500 yen for adults and 250 yen for elementary school students and younger children. For more information call 099-293-2525, the city’s Ship Department.
