第２４回たねがしまロケットマラソン（種子島１市２町、南日本新聞社など主催）が２月２７日、南種子町の種子島宇宙センターをメーン会場に開かれた。９９３人が雨の中、５種目で健脚を競った。
フルマラソン男子は、２時間４１分６秒で岩切純平（鹿児島市）が初優勝、女子は長野タヅエ（西之表市）が３時間２４分５９秒で６連覇した。
ハーフマラソン男子は、高橋祐一朗（新潟県）が１時間１３分１３秒、女子は徳永貴子（鹿児島市）が１時間４５分１０秒で制した。

Tanegashima Rocket marathon
The 24th Tanegashima Rocket Marathon, hosted by a city and two towns on Tanegashima Island, and Minami Nippon Shimbun among others, took place mainly at Tanegashima Space Centre in Minamitane on February 27. In the rain, a total of 993 people competed with each other in five categories.
In the men’s full marathon, Mr. Iwakiri Junpei from Kagoshima City captured gold in the time of 2 hours 41 minutes 6 seconds for his first victory, while Ms. Nagano Tazue from Nishinoomote City achieved her sixth consecutive victory in the women’s category with a time of 3 hours 24 minutes 59 seconds.
In the men’s half marathon, Mr. Takahashi Yuichiro from Niigata Prefecture finished first in 1 hour 13 minutes 13 seconds, while Ms. Tokunaga Takako from Kagoshima City conquered and won in 1 hour 45 minutes 10 seconds.
