芸術を通して日置市吹上地域の魅力を発信する「吹上ワンダーマップ２０１１」が２月２７日まで、同市の野首地区を中心に開かれた。県内外で活躍するアーティスト２０人が商店街、温泉旅館、農園などに作品を展示。期間中３０００人以上が来場、新感覚の迫力あるアートを満喫した。
メーン会場の野首地区公民館体育館には、実行委員長を務める博多和宏さん＝日置市＝が制作した１５００メートルに及ぶ大きく広がった裾（すそ）が床や壁を覆うドレス「体育館女」が展示された。

Fukiage goes artistic
“Fukiage Wonder Map 2011,” which is aimed at promoting the charms of the Fukiage area in Hioki City through art, took place in the city’s Nokubi district until February 27. A total of 20 artists who are active both inside and outside of the prefecture exhibited their works in the shopping streets, hot spring spas, and farms. During the period, over 3,000 people visited the art festival to appreciate the sensational and dynamic art works.
The main venue, Nokubi District Public Gymnasium, featured a work called “Gymnasium woman,” a 1,500-metre-long dress that covered the whole floor and walls, which was created by the event’s executive chairman, Mr. Hakata Kazuhiro.
