鹿児島市は滞納市税回収の一環として、インターネットを使った初の公売を６月１８－２０日に実施する。ネットオークション大手ヤフーの公売システムを使った競り売り方式で、滞納者から差し押さえた楽器や棚、掛け軸など３１点を出品する。

Kagoshima City to hold tax sale
Kagoshima City will hold its first-ever public auction on June 18-20 using the internet. This is as part of the city’s measure to collect unpaid local tax from the citizens, in which a total of 31 seized items will be put up for sale. These items include musical instruments, shelves and hanging scrolls. The auction will be carried out using a public auction system developed by the leading internet auction company Yahoo Co.

‘Kagoshima … auction’ は「鹿児島市が初めての公売を実施する」。‘hold’ は「（会・式など）を催す、開催する」。‘first-ever’ は「最初の」（very first）。

‘This … citizens’ が「これ（公売）は、市民から滞納市税を回収するための市の対策の一環である」。‘as part of …’ は「・・・の一環として」。‘measure’ は「手段、対策；法案、条例」。‘unpaid’ は「未払いの」。‘local tax’ は「地方税」ですが、ここでは鹿児島市についてのことなので「市税」を意味します。「市税」は ‘city tax’ または ‘municipal tax’ と言います。‘in … sale’ は「（公売で）計３１点の差し押さえ品が売りに出される」。‘a total of …’ は「計・・・の」。‘seized item’ は「差し押さえ品」。‘confiscated property(article, goods, material)’ ‘distressed goods’ ‘attached goods’ などとも言います。‘put up for sale’ は「売りに出される」。



“These items include musical instruments, shelves and hanging scrolls.”

全訳は「これらの品目には楽器や棚、掛け軸が含まれる」。‘instrument’ は「道具、器具；手段；法律文書」。‘shelves’ は ‘shelf’ の複数形。‘hang’ は「吊るす、下げる、掛ける」。‘scroll’ は「（皮・紙の）巻物；コンピュータのスクロール装置（画面を上下に移動するもの）」。



“The auction will be carried out using a public auction system developed by the leading internet auction company Yahoo Co.”

‘The … system’ は「そのオークションは公売システムを使って行われる」。‘carry out’ は「（実験など）を行なう、（計画・命令など）を遂行する」。‘developed … Co.’ は「インターネットオークション大手のヤフーが開発した」。‘develop’ は「（能力・産業など）を発達させる、発展させる；（資源・新製品など）を開発する」。‘leading company’ は「大手の会社」。‘major company’ とも言います。




タイトルの “Kagoshima City to hold tax sale”　は「鹿児島市が公売を実施する」。
タイトルで動詞が ‘to …’ という不定詞の形をとるときは、今後のことを表します。
‘tax sale’ は「（差し押さえ物件の）公売」。
