鹿児島県人事委員会（上園淳委員長）は１０月４日、２０１０年度の県職員給与について、民間との均衡を図るため、月給と期末・勤勉手当（ボーナス）をいずれも引き下げるよう、伊藤祐一郎知事と金子万寿夫県議会議長に勧告した。
勧告通りに引き下げが実施された場合、月給とボーナスを合わせた県職員の平均年収（４３．９歳）は、現行より９万円（１．４％）減の６１９万７０００円。県が財政難を理由に０４年度から継続中の減額措置（４月現在平均６％）を反映した実際支給額は５９１万８０００円の見通し。
伊藤知事は「今後、国や各県の動向、極めて厳しい県の財政事情などを総合的に勘案し、慎重に対処したい」との談話を発表した。

In regard to the prefectural government workers’ allowances for the fiscal year 2010,
Kagoshima Prefecture Personnel Committee (Chairman: Kamizono Atsushi) on October
4 recommended that prefectural governor Ito Yuichiro and prefectural assembly chairman
Kaneko Masuo cut both their monthly salaries and bonuses in order to repair the imbalance
with the private sector.
Should the reduction be carried out as advised, the average annual income of the
prefecture’s public workers (average age: 43.9), including monthly payments and bonuses,
will be slashed by 90,000 yen or 1.4% from the current amount to 6,197,000 yen. The
actual amount of payment, reflecting its ongoing deduction scheme (6% as of April), which
has continued since FY2004 due to financial difficulties, will be 5,918,000 yen.
Gov. Ito said in a statement: “I’d like to deal with the matter carefully after taking the
national government and other prefecture’s actions as well the prefecture’s extremely
severe financial situation into consideration.”
