南さつま市で９月２３日、自転車で同市内を駆け抜ける「２０１０ツール・ド・南さつま」が行われた。
１００キロ、６０キロ、２０キロの３コースに、県内外から７～８８歳の３８７人が参加した。昨年より７８人多かった。
開会式の時に降っていた雨はレース開始後にやみ、青空がのぞいた。参加者は思い思いのペースで、起伏の激しいコースや海岸線など豊かな自然を満喫した。

A bicycle race around the city, “Tour de Minamisatsuma 2010,” took place in Minamisatsuma City on September 23.
A total of 387 people aged from seven to 88 from both inside and outside the prefecture took part in the event that was comprised of three categories: the 100km, 60km, and 20km courses. It saw 78 more participants than last year.
The opening ceremony endured rain; however, it stopped after the race started, and a blue sky prevailed. The cyclists pedalled through the hilly courses at their own pace while enjoying the surrounding nature such as the coastline.
