まぐろバーガー登場
いちき串木野商工会議所は８日、地元を代表する特産品マグロを使った「出船バーガー」と、かまぼこを使った「珍ま串」の試食会を開いた。関係者は、まぐろラーメンに続く「食のまち」の名物に育てようと張り切っている。２６、２７の両日に開催される「串木野まぐろフェスティバル」でそれぞれ販売予定。

Tuna burger on sale
Ichiki-Kushikino City’s board of trade has developed two new dishes using special products of the city, debuted at a tasting event on April 8. The new products are ‘Debune Burger’ and ‘Chima-Gushi’, which use tuna, and a fish sausage called ‘kamaboko’, respectively. The local officials are expecting these products will become the city’s new features following its well-known ‘tuna ramen’ noodle. These will be on sale at the local food festival, ‘Kushikino Maguro (tuna) Festival’, which will be held on the 26th and 27th of this month.

‘Ichiki-Kushikino … trade’ は「いちき串木野商工会議所」。‘board of trade’ は「商工会議所」。‘Chamber of Commerce and Industry’ とも言います。‘has … city’ は「市の特産品を使った２品の新しい料理を開発した」。‘develop’ は「・・・を発達させる；開発する」。‘special product’ は「特産品」。‘debuted … April 8’ は「４月８日の試食会で発表された」。‘debut’ は「デビューする；・・・を初公開する」。‘tasting event’ は「試食会」。



“The new products are ‘Debune Burger’ and ‘Chima-Gushi’, which use tuna, and a fish sausage called ‘kamaboko’, respectively.”

‘The new products’ は「その新製品」。‘product’ は「製品；生産物；産出物」。工業製品だけではなく、農産物（produce）や海産物なども含みます。‘which … respectively’ は「それぞれまぐろと、かまぼこと呼ばれる魚肉ソーセージを使っている」。‘sausage’ は「通常豚肉」の腸詰め（ロングマン現代アメリカ英語辞典）。筆者はなんとなく魚肉のイメージがありました。因みにジーニアス英和辞典では、「かまぼこ」の説明として ‘steamed fish paste’（蒸した魚の練り物）としています。‘respectively’ は「それぞれ」。‘each~’ という言い方もできます。

‘The … features’ は「地元当局はこれらの商品が市の新しい名物になることを期待している」。‘The local officials’ は、具体的には「いちき串木野市（の職員）」のことを指しています。‘feature’ は「呼び物、目玉商品」。‘following … noodle’ は「よく知られたマグロラーメンに続いて」。‘follow’ は「・・・に続く。‘well-known’ は「よく知られた」。‘ramen’ は固有名詞で、知らない人にとっては意味がわからないので ‘noodle’（麺）という単語をつけています。



“These will be on sale at the local food festival, ‘Kushikino Maguro (tuna) Festival’, which will be held on the 26th and 27th of this month.”

‘These … festival’ は「これら（の新商品）は地元の食の祭典で販売される」。‘on sale’ は「販売されて」。‘which … month’ は「（串木野マグロフェスティバルは）今月の２６日と２７日に開催される」。‘(be) held’ は「実施される、開催される」。類は ‘take place’。



タイトルの “Tuna burger on sale”　は「まぐろバーガーが販売される」。

枕崎の「かつお」と、いちき串木野市の「まぐろ」が競い合うようにして新しいメニューが生み出されていますね。どちらも既にラーメンが話題を呼んでいますが、新メニューも定着するでしょうか。
