おれんじ鉄道で銀河へ出発！
肥薩おれんじ鉄道（本社・熊本県八代市）は、「サマーファンフェスタ２０１０」と銘打ったイベントを８月２８日、出水市の出水車両基地で開く。漫画家・松本零士氏原作の「銀河鉄道９９９」とタイアップしたラッピング列車「星の列車」の運行を記念し企画した。
期間中、星の列車の展示・臨時運行のほか、車両基地見学ツアーでは普段見られない運転指令室も公開される。
このほか、おれんじ鉄道応援ソングをうたう若松沙奈枝さんのコンサートやミニＳＬ体験乗車、沿線飲食店による特別屋台など、さまざまな催しが計画されている。

Orange Train to hold event to juice up operation
Hisatsu Orange Railway Co. (HQ. Yatsushiro, Kumamoto) will hold an event titled “Summer Fan Festa 2010” at Izumi Rail Yard in Izumi City on August 28. It has planned the event to commemorate the operation of the “Star Train,” whose exterior features the classic graphic novel “Galaxy Express 999” by a cartoonist, Matsumoto Reiji.
During the event, it will hold an exhibition of the “Star Train,” extending its service; while the operation room, which is usually undisclosed, will also be open to the public in a backstage tour of the rail yard.
In addition, there will be various features such as a concert by Ms. Wakamatsu Sanae, who sings a promotional song for the Orange Express, a demonstration ride on a mini steam locomotive, and specially set up stalls by restaurants along the train line.
Admission is free, but some attractions limit the number of participants.
