不明高齢者 各地で調査へ
全国各地で１００歳以上の高齢者が相次ぎ所在不明になっていることを受け、鹿児島県内でも複数の自治体が８月４日までに、１００歳以上の高齢者の所在をあらためて調査した。
対象者が２２８人と県内で最も多い鹿児島市でも、９月の敬老の日を前に所在調査を進めている。不明の場合は医療保険や介護保険などから追跡調査する。
一方、阿久根市や長島町、天城町など多くの自治体は、敬老の日に合わせ記念品や祝い金などを首長や職員が直接手渡しするため、「問題はなく、あらためて調査はしない」としている。（http://373news.com/modules/pickup/article.php?storyid=25648 2010 08/05）

In response to a series of cases of missing centenarians nationwide, municipalities in Kagoshima Prefecture have begun launching a reinvestigation into the whereabouts of the people aged 100 and over by August 4.
Kagoshima City, which has the largest number to be sought out with 228, is also carrying out the inquiry ahead of the Respect-for-the-Aged Day in September. If there are people unidentified, they will conduct a follow-up survey through records of medical or nursing insurances.
Meanwhile, a majority of towns such as Akune City, Nagashima, and Amagi have declared they would not carry out the review as it was deemed unnecessary--customarily, their mayor or officials present memorial goods or cash contributions in person (to the centenarians) on the Respect-for-the-Aged Day.
