「Ｗｅ Ｌｏｖｅ 天文館協議会」メンバーや芸術家、大学生、市職員ら２３人で構成する鹿児島市の「いづろ・天文館地区活性化検討ワーキンググループ（ＷＧ）」の第５回会合が７月７日、同市東千石町のアイムビルで開かれた。
回遊性向上や活性化の方策を探る社会実験について、ＷＧメンバーや商店街関係者らでつくる実行委員会が１０月の実施を発表。ビルに壁画を描く「壁面アート」、エンパイヤ広場で各店の在庫品を販売する「アウトレットモール」などの計画を示した。
グルメ通りと七味小路では、地元芸術家らの絵で複数のビル外壁を飾り、印象的な照明を施す。中央公園周辺やアーケード内では、オープンカフェやテント市を開く。（Source:373news.com 2010 07/12）

Tenmonkan revitalisation project underway
The fifth meeting of the “Izuro and Tenmonkan Districts' Revitalisation Review Working Group (WG),” which is comprised of the “We Love Tenmonkan Council” members, artists, college students, and city workers took place on July 7 at the AIM Building in Higashisengoku-cho, Kagoshima City.
In regard to a pilot programme to seek measures of improvement in customer circulation and revitalisation of the district, the executive committee made up of the WG members and the local shop owners unveiled that the programme was intended to be conduct in October. With its announcement, the members involved also presented such schemes as “wall paintings” on buildings and an “outlet mall” that would sell stock articles at each shop in the Empire Square.
Along Gourmet Street and Shichimi-koji Lane, buildings will display paintings by local artists, which will then be illuminated with brilliant lighting. Open cafés and stalls are also scheduled to be set up around Chuo Park and in the arcades.
