桜島フェリーで「よりみちクルーズ」
　鹿児島市は来月１９日から、桜島フェリー「よりみちクルーズ」を試験的に実施する。来年３月の九州新幹線全線開業を控え、新たな観光メニューをつくる試みで、鹿児島港を出て桜島赤水町沖の神瀬を回り、４５分間ほどかけて桜島港に到着する。
　４月１４日の試乗運航には、森博幸市長ら市関係者のほか、観光、運輸、報道関係者ら約７０人が参加、鹿児島湾上から市街地や桜島の景観を目の当たりにした。

Taking a long cut
Kagoshima City will begin a “Roundabout Cruise” on a trial basis from the 19th of next month. The experimental project is one of its attempts to create new tourism attractions ahead of the opening of the entire route of the Kyushu Shinkansen Line next March. The ferry leaving from Kagoshima Port will take a 45-minute cruise around Kanze Shallow, off of Akamizu Town in Sakurajima, before it arrives at Sakurajima Port.
On April 14, around 70 people, including Kagoshima City Mayor Mori Hiroyuki and the city officials, as well as concerned parties from the tourism and transportation industries, and reporters, participated in a trial run during which they were impressed, while cruising the middle of Kagoshima Bay, by the view of Kagoshima City's urban district and Mt. Sakurajima outspread before them.
