日本一早い新茶初取引会
　２０１０年産新茶の日本一早い初取引会が４月６日、鹿児島市の県茶市場であった。冷害の影響を強く受けた前年に比べ、生育は良好で、キロ当たり平均価格は前年比１２６３円高の４０９２円をつけた。
　県茶業会議所によると、全体的には前年に続き在庫が多い一方で、上級茶は不足。「厳しい状況になるだろうが、いいものを作ればそれだけ価格がつく市場」とみている。

First scent of tea
The country’s earliest initial trade session of the first tea harvest in 2010 took place at the prefectural tea market in Kagoshima City on April 6. The tea leaves grew well compared to last year, when the crop suffered damage from heavy cold weather; and the average price per kilogram increased by 1,263 yen to 4,092 yen.
According to the tea industry's prefectural chamber, while they continue to have large quantities of the product in stock as a whole from the previous year, those of high-grade tea are in short supply. The authority said that although they forecast a severe situation, it had been proven that good products fetch high prices in the market.
