普天間移設　徳之島で反対集会
　米軍普天間飛行場（沖縄県宜野湾市）の移設先の一つとして、米側に示された政府案に盛り込まれた徳之島で３月２８日、移設反対の郡民大会があった。会場の天城町総合運動公園野球場には、島内外から４２００人（主催者発表）が集まった。
　大会では「米軍基地、訓練基地の徳之島への移設を断固として反対する」とする決議文と大会スローガンを採択し、大久保明伊仙町長を先頭に「がんばろう」と、こぶしを突き上げた。

Tokunoshima says ‘No’ to U.S. base
Residents of Tokunoshima Island held a rally on March 28 in a protest against the relocation of the U.S. Futenma Airbase (Ginowan City, Okinawa Prefecture) to the island, which, among other locations, was included in the Japanese government’s draft proposal to the U.S. government. According to the event’s organiser, a total of 4,200 people from inside and outside the island gathered at Amagi Town's General Playground’s baseball field.
At the meeting, the participants adopted a slogan and the resolution, “We resolutely oppose the relocation of a U.S. base and a training camp to Tokunoshima Island,” which was followed by a chorus of shouts lead by the Isen Town mayor, Okubo Yasuaki, with whom participants raised their fists high in the air.

水面下では以前から徳之島案があったのでしょうが、住民にすればまさに青天の霹靂といったところではないでしょうか。沖縄県は当然県外移設を求める声が強く、移設先候補は地元が強く反対、アメリカ側は名護市辺野古沿岸部への現行計画が最善との姿勢を崩しておらず、まさに三つ巴の戦い（three-way[sided] fight）の非常に困難な問題です。まあ、米軍基地自体がなくなれば一番いいのですが。。。実際には軍事のみならず、政治・経済・雇用問題などが複雑に絡み合うだけに非常に厄介な問題です。
