「アエールプラザ」が完成　鹿児島市中央町
　鹿児島市中央町の２２番街区再開発ビル「アエールプラザ」が完成し、３月８日竣工式があった。
　同プラザは４階建てで、コンセプトは「衣・食・癒しのハートフル空間」。食品や衣料、雑貨など約３０店舗が入るほか、貸事務所スペースもある。２５日にグランドオープンする。
　中央町２２番街区市街地再開発組合の坂上益啓理事長（５９）は「鹿児島らしさを強調しながら、地域に親しまれる活気ある場にしたい」と話した。

“A' Ell Plaza” completed
The construction of a redevelopment building in the 22nd District of Chuo Town, Kagoshima City, “A' Ell Plaza” has been completed and a ceremony was held on March 8.
The four-story building, whose concept is “Hearty space of fashion, food and healing,” will house around 30 shops selling foods, fashion gear and various goods, as well as rental space for offices. It will make its grand opening on March 25.
Mr. Sakagami Masuhiro (59), committee chairman of the urban redevelopment project of the Chuo-cho 22nd District, said he hoped to make the district energetic and loved by the local residents; and to emphasize, at the same time, the colour of Kagoshima.

committee chairman：組合の理事長　　　he ~ residents：（坂上氏）はその地区（中央町２２番街区のこと）を活気があり、地元住民に愛されるようにしたい　　　to ~ Kagoshima：同時に、鹿児島色を強調したい。文頭の “to” には接続詞 “and” を通じて前述の “hope” がかかっており、事実上 “hope to emphasise ~” ということになります。因みに “emphasise” は “emphasize” の英国系の綴りです。

日本には、日本語の響きとも反響する外来語や、それを基にした造語がを用いた名称の建物やイベントが多く見られますカタカナ語の氾濫による「日本語の乱れ」や「わかりにくさ」を理由に批判する向きもありますが、文化の枠に囚われない日本人の「感性」の表れでもあるかもしれません。語源はわかりませんが、「会える」という日本語の響きをかけたものであることは想像できます。ただ、氾濫するカタカナ名称の建物にはちょっとウンザリ、という気持ちもなくはないですね、正直。。。
