災いは水に流して・・・
今年一年の無病息災を願い、厄払いに身代わりのひな人形を流す伝統行事「流しびな」が３月７日、鹿児島市の仙巌園曲水の庭であり、県内外から女性４６人が参加した。
参加者はおはらいをすませた後、願い事を書いた紙と、小さなひな人形２体を竹舟に乗せ、一人ずつ水路に流した。祈るように手を合わせ、竹舟の行方を見守る姿も見られた。

Washing away evil spirits…
A traditional women’s event, “Nagashi-bina,” in which people float their substitutes in the form of “hina” dolls (miniature dolls for Girl’s Day) down a stream in order to wash away evil spirits, and thereby also wish for good health during the year, took place at Senganen’s Kyokusui-no-niwa Japanese garden in Kagoshima City on March 7. A total of 46 women from inside and outside the prefecture took part in the event.
After a purification ritual, each participant placed a slip of paper with a handwritten wish and two tiny dolls on a bamboo boat, and then floated it down a watercourse (in the garden). Some women were seen with their hands folded, prayerfully watching the bamboo boat as it floated down the stream.

この「流しびな」は平安時代から伝わる神事で、仙巌園では３日のひな祭りの前後に毎年行っており今年で９回目です。（南日本新聞2010/3/08）
抱えている問題が何であれ、結局は自分自身で気持ちの整理をつけるしかありません。この行事も、自分の中の「負」の部分を自分の分身の雛人形という形で具現化して文字通り水に流すという、一種の“メタファー（隠喩）”の手法を用いた知恵といえるかもしれません。
