九州駅弁「かれい川」　華麗にＶ３
　ＪＲ九州が２月２３日開いた「第６回九州の駅弁ランキング」品評会で、霧島市の嘉例川駅などで販売する「百年の旅物語かれい川」（１０５０円）が３年連続１位になった。鹿児島勢はベストテンに４点入った。
　かれい川は竹皮製の弁当箱にシイタケとタケノコの炊き込みご飯を詰め、サツマイモとニンジンに衣をつけて揚げた郷土料理「がね」やコロッケなどを盛りつけている。

Kareigawa keeps top status in train lunch ranking
“Hyakunen-no-tabi-monogatari Kareigawa,” a 1,050 yen box meal sold at JR stations, defended its title as the No.1 Ekiben (train lunch) for the third consecutive year at “The Sixth Ekiben Ranking of Kyushu” fair hosted by JR Kyushu on February 23. Kagoshima, with its Kareigawa and other offerings, swept four out of the top ten box meals in the Kyushu area.
Kareigawa features cooked rice with such ingredients as shiitake mushrooms and bamboo sprouts. Also included are a local dish called “ga-ne” –battered sweet potatoes and carrots- and croquettes in a container made of bamboo sheaths.
