川辺二日市
南薩に春を告げる名物の川辺二日市が２月６日と７日の２日間、南九州市川辺の商店街であった。風がやや冷たかったものの、多くの買い物客が繰り出した。
歩行者天国となった１．３キロの商店街には、通常より２割安い仏壇や骨董品、食べ物など約４００の露店が並び、バナナのたたき売りやチンドン行列がそぞろ歩きの人々を楽しませた。

An annual spring feature in the Nansatsu region, the Kawanabe Futsuka-ichi Market, took place at a shopping district in Kawanabe, Minamikyushu City on February 6 and 7. Though the wind was a little chilly, it drew a large number of shoppers.
The 1.3-kilometer shopping street, which became vehicle-free for the event, was lined with roughly 4,000 stalls selling various products such as foods, and 20%-off household Buddhist altars and antiques. Traditional-style banana sales, with their unique sales pitches, and a parade of gaudily dressed people playing lively music added excitement to the market.
