県内各地で大雪
薩摩・大隅地方は１月１３日、この冬一番の強い冬型の気圧配置の影響で大雪となり、伊佐市大口で１１センチ、鹿児島市東郡元町で５センチの積雪を観測した。鹿児島市で５センチ以上積もったのは２００５年１２月以来。
鹿児島地方気象台によると、九州南部の上空１５００メートルには１２日夜から１３日朝にかけて、氷点下９度以下の強い寒気が流れ込み、各地に雪を降らせた。県内は強風やしけで交通機関が乱れ、スリップ事故が相次いだ。

Kagoshima goes white with snow
Heavy snow hit the Satsuma and Osumi regions on January 13 because of the season’s strongest pressure pattern. Eleven centimetres of snow was observed in Isa City’s Okuchi district, while Kagoshima City’s Higashi-Korimoto-cho had five centimetres of snow for the first time since December 2005.
According to the Kagoshima Meteorological Observatory, strong cold air of 9 degrees Celsius below zero blew through an altitude of 1,500 meters above the southern part of the Kyushu area from the night of the 12th to the 13th, causing snow to fall throughout the region. Public transportation throughout the prefecture was disrupted by strong winds and rough seas, and there were a series of car accidents as a result of skidding on the icy roads.
