労災死亡が過去最少　０９年
２００９年の鹿児島県内の労災死亡者は１２人で、過去最少だったことが１月１２日、鹿児島労働局のまとめで分かった。最終集計は３月以降で、０９年の目標「死亡者２０人未満、死傷者１６９９人未満」を達成する見込み。同労働局安全衛生課は「労災発生は減少傾向で、各事業所の安全対策が向上しているのではないか。事業場や作業のリスク低減などさらなる防止策を呼びかける」としている。

Work-related death toll lowest in 09
Kagoshima Labour Department reported on January 12 that workplace fatalities in Kagoshima Prefecture in 2009 were twelve--the lowest ever. The figure is expected to meet the authority’s target for 2009 of “less than 20 dead, 1,699 casualties (in total)” when the final tally will be unveiled after March. The Department’s Safety and Health Division said the number of work-related accidents was on a decline, which they believed was a result of improvements in safety measures at each place of business. They said they would call for companies to implement further preventive measures to reduce operation risks at their workplaces.
