年の瀬に響く歓喜の歌
　師走の風物詩「２００９かごしま県民第九演奏会」が１２月１３日、鹿児島市の宝山ホールであった。２５回目の今回は、米国サンタ・バーバラ室内オーケストラ音楽監督兼常任指揮者の大山平一郎さんを迎えた。
公募で集まった１６～８３歳の合唱団員３２６人は、９月末から練習を重ねてきた。４人のソリストとともに迫力ある歌声を披露すると、客席から大きな拍手が起こった。

All’s well that ends joyfully
'Kagoshima Prefecture Citizens Ninth Symphony Concert 2009,’ an annual feature in December, was held at Houzan Hall in Kagoshima City on December 13th. They had Mr. Oyama Heiichiro, a musical director-resident conductor of the U.S. Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra, as a guest conductor for this year's 25th anniversary of the year-end concert.
The 326 voices choir that consisted of selected citizens from the public, aged 16 to 83, had been practicing since the end of September. As they showcased their powerful performances along with four soloists, the audience burst into applause.

Showcased：披露した（displayed, exhibited, show）　　　along with …：・・・と一緒に；・・・と協力して　　　soloists：ソリスト（独唱［奏］者）　　　the ~ applause：観客は拍手喝采をした。Burst（爆発する、炸裂する）は過去形・過去分詞形でも基本的に burst と綴ります。


〈タイトル〉
All’s well that ends joyfully：歓喜で終わればすべてよし
All is well that ends well（終わりよければすべてよし）という諺（ことわざ）のもじりです。今年の漢字には、「新政権誕生」や「新型インフルエンザ」の流行などが理由で「新」が選ばれました。経済不況や、いわゆる「イラク戦争」などの暗いニュースも多かった旧年ですが、新年を迎えるにあたっては、やはり「希望」を持ちたいものです。
因みに今年の流行語大賞は「政権交代」でしたが、これが「流行語」といえるのか腑に落ちません。個人的には「草食系男子」のほうがふさわしいと思いますが。。。
