もうすぐクリスマス／ドルフィンポート
鹿児島市本港新町のドルフィンポートで１１月６日、クリスマスツリー点灯式があった。同市内の幼稚園の園児約１５０人がクリスマスソングを披露した後、サンタクロースが登場。園児代表と一緒に点灯スイッチを押すと、高さ７メートルのメーンツリーやトナカイなど約３０種のイルミネーションにつけられた色とりどりの電飾５万８０００個が一斉に輝き、会場からは大きな歓声が上がった。１２月２５日まで点灯し、海をテーマにした一部のイルミネーションは２月末まで。

Xmas countdown
A Christmas tree lighting ceremony took place at Dolphin Port in Honko-shinmachi, Kagoshima City on November 6. After around 150 children from an infant school in the city performed a Christmas song, Santa Clause appeared on the scene. Together, they pressed the power switch, turning on a total of 58,000 small colourful light bulbs adorning a 7-meter tall Christmas tree and some 30 different kinds of objects, such as reindeers, drawing cheers from the crowd. The seasonal decorations will be illuminated until December 25, while some of the illuminations which were decorated under the theme of 'sea' will be illuminated until the end of February.

Together：一緒に　　　a total of …：計・・・の　　　light bulbs：電球　　　adorning …：・・・を装飾して（decorating）　　　some ~ objects：約３０種類の物体（「イルミネーション」のこと）。英語の「イルミネーション（illumination）」は、ロングマン現代アメリカ英語辞典によると “lighting provided by a lamp, light etc.”（ランプや光による照明）、つまりは「光源」のことで不可算名詞です。つまり、ここで意図される「装飾された物」自体を指すわけではありません。
