「甑島のトシドン」がユネスコ登録
薩摩川内市の下甑島で大みそかの夜に行われる国の重要無形民俗文化財「甑島のトシドン」が９月３０日、アラブ首長国連邦のアブダビで開催中の国連教育科学文化機関（ユネスコ）政府間委員会で無形文化遺産代表リストに追加登録されることが決まった。今回リスト入りしたのは国内から１３件で、鹿児島県からは初。保存会の日笠山直宏会長（６９）は「口承で伝わったこの行事を、しっかりと次世代につなげていく」と話した。

‘Toshidon’ makes UNESCO’s cultural asset list
‘Koshikijima no Toshidon,’ which is exhibited on New Year’s Eve in Shimokoshikijima Island in Satsumasendai City and is registered as one of Japan’s significant intangible folk culture assets, was added to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO)’s intangible cultural heritage list after a decision was made on September 30 at UNESCO’s ongoing intergovernmental panel held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This time, a total of 13 assets were listed from Japan, and it was the first time for Kagoshima Prefecture. The Chairman of the tradition’s preservation society, Mr. Higasayama Naohiro (69), said he was determined to pass down the oral culture on to future generations.
