鹿児島市で「おぎおんさあ」
鹿児島の夏を彩る「おぎおんさあ」本祭が７月１９日、鹿児島市の八坂神社と天文館周辺で行われた。完成したばかりの神官山車や勇壮なみこしがにぎやかに連なり、街に熱気を振りまいた。ご神幸行列には約２０００人が参加。古式ゆかしい装束の官女や花かごに乗った稚児らに続き、子どもみこし１３基、大人みこし８基が練り歩いた。

Ogionsaa festival
The main part of Ogionsaa Festival, an event that spices up summer in Kagoshima, began at Kagoshima City’s Yasaka Shrine and around Tenmonkan district on July 19. The just-completed float carrying the Shinto priests as well as mikoshi (portable shrines) of epic proportions in procession followed one another in succession, filing the town with excitement. Meanwhile, a total of around 2000 people participated in the Shinko parade in which court ladies in traditional attire and children on basket palanquins decorated with flowers marched through the town, followed by 13 mikoshi carried by children and eight by adults.
