第５６回県美展が開幕／鹿児島市
第５６回県美展（鹿児島県美術協会、県、鹿児島市教育委員会主催、南日本新聞社後援）は５月１６日、鹿児島市の黎明館と同市立美術館で始まった。洋画、日本画、彫刻、工芸、デザイン、写真の計６６０点が並び、豊かな感性と卓越した技量に美術ファンは興味深く見入っていた。２４日まで。観覧料は大人５００円、高大生３００円、小中学生無料。

A longstanding tradition of art
The 56th Prefectural Art Exhibition (Kenbiten), co-sponsored by Kagoshima Prefecture Arts Association, Kagoshima Prefecture, and the Kagoshima City Board of Education and supported by Minami Nippon Shimbun, opened on May 16 at Kagoshima City’s Reimeikan Museum and Kagoshima City Museum. A total of 660 artworks including Western and Japanese paintings, sculptures, handicrafts, designs and photographs are on display. Visitors were fascinated by the rich sensibilities and superior skills of the artists. The event will be held until the 24th. Admission is 500 yen for adults and 300 yen for high school and college students. Elementary and junior high school students are admitted free of charge.
