篤姫館が閉館／鹿児島市
鹿児島市本港新町の「篤姫館」が３月３１日、閉館した。ＮＨＫ大河ドラマ「篤姫」放映を機に昨年１月６日に開館し、目標とした２０万人の３倍を超える、６６万７５３５人が訪れた。閉館セレモニーでは、閉館を記念し、ドラマ終盤の場面で使われた鍵が森市長に渡された。

Atsuhime freed up her role
The Atsuhime Museum in Honkō-shinmachi, Kagoshima City, that featured a locally born princess who married into the shogun (feudal era general) Tokugawa family at the end of the samurai period, closed on March 31. The museum was opened last year on January 6th, to coincide with the annual broadcast of the NHK period drama ‘Princess Atsuhime’, and has since been visited by a total of 667,535 people, more than triple its initial target of 200,000. During the closing ceremony, a key which was used towards the end of the drama was presented to the Kagoshima City Mayor Mori in commemoration of the museum closing.

‘closing ceremony’ は「閉館式、閉会式」。‘a key … drama’ は「ドラマ終盤で使われた鍵」。‘(was) presented to …’ は「・・・に贈呈される、進呈される」。‘in commemoration of …’ は「・・・を記念して（in memory of）」。


タイトルの “Atsuhime freed up her role”　は「篤姫が任務から解放される」。
‘free up’ は「・・・を完全に自由にする、・・・を解放する」。‘role’ は「役割、任務、昨日（part）」。
