「つばめ」に新車両登場
ＪＲ九州は１７日、九州新幹線の現行車両の８００系「つばめ」に加え、新しいデザインの新８００系車両を導入する、と発表した。室内装飾に川辺仏壇などの九州各地の職人の技を多用し、「和風」を強調した仕上げにする。「ニューつばめ」は１１年春の全線開業に向けて、６両の列車を３編成製造し、早ければ２００９年７月にも第一号が登場する。

Corrupt parents eating away school lunches
JR Kyushu announced on December 17 that it will introduce a newly designed Tsubame 800-system vehicle in addition to the current 800-system train fleet. The new train will emphasise Japanese style by applying various artifice from every part of the Kyushu region in its interior decoration, including Kawanabe Butudan’s Buddhist alter. The railway company will produce a total of three six-coach trains ahead of the opening of the completed Kyushu Shinkansen Line in the spring of 2011, and the first one will appear from July 2009.

‘The … company’ は「JR九州」のこと。‘a total of …’ は「計・・・の」。‘coach’ は「《米》バス（motor~）；《英》長距離［観光］用バス；（バス・鉄道の）車両」。‘ahead of …’ は「・・・の前に［へ、を］」。‘completed’ は「完成した」。‘Kyushu … Line’ は「九州新幹線」。‘the … 2009’ は「最初の分（新『つばめ』のこと）は２００９年７月から登場する」。‘appear’ は「・・・が現れる、登場する」。


タイトルの “Shinkansen Tsubame to have new line-up”　は「新幹線つばめに新しい顔ぶれが登場」。‘line(-)up’ は「人の列；（ショーなどの特定の目的のために集まった）顔ぶれ、陣容；（球技チームの）出場メンバー」。
