鹿児島市のマリンポートかごしまに６月２日、豪華客船「サン・プリンセス」（７万７千トン）が初寄港した。同船は５月２７日に横浜港を出発。９泊１０日で日本各地や韓国・釜山を巡っている。
全長２６１メートル、定員２０２２人。歓迎式で、中園博揮市経済局長は「ダイナミックな桜島も出迎えている。思い出深い滞在にして」とアンドリュー・フルード船長ら乗組員に呼び掛けた。

Sun Princess makes 1st visit to Kagoshima
A luxury cruise liner, "Sun Princess," made its first port call at the Marine Port Kagoshima in Kagoshima City on June 2. The 77,000-ton passenger boat left Yokohama Port on May 27, and it will visit various places in Japan and Busan, South Korea in its ten-day nine-night trip.
The gigantic boat is 261 metres in length, and can carry 2,022 passengers and crew members. During the welcoming ceremony, Director-General of the city's Economic Affairs Bureau, Nakazono Hiroki, said to the crew members, led by Captain Andrew Froude, that the dynamic Sakurajima also welcomed them and that he hoped their stay would become a memorable one.
