映画「半次郎」西郷役が決定
幕末維新期に活躍した薩摩藩出身の桐野利秋（中村半次郎）を描く映画「半次郎」に出演する西郷隆盛役のオーディションが９月３日夜、鹿児島市のアミュプラザ鹿児島であった。主役を演じる榎木孝明さんと五十嵐匠監督が審査。全国公募の最終選考に残った１５人から、指宿市出身で名古屋市在住の人材派遣会社社長田中正次さん（４８）を選んだ。田中さんは「後輩を育てる兄貴分の西郷さんを演じきりたい」と抱負を語った。本格的な撮影は９月中に開始。公開は来年５月の予定という。

‘Saigo’ but not least …
An audition for the role of Saigo Takamori in the film ‘Hanjirō’ that depicts the life of a hero from the Satsuma Clan at the dawn of modern Japan, Kirino Toshiaki (Nakamura Hanjirō), took place on the night of September 3 at AMU Plaza Kagoshima in Kagoshima City. The leading actor Mr. Enoki Takaaki and the director Mr. Igarashi Takumi, who served as the judges, selected Mr. Tanaka Seiji (48), the president of a placement agency originally from Ibusuki City, Kagoshima, now living in Nagoya City, from among 15 finalists from all over Japan. Tanaka expressed his desire to play the role of a brotherly Saigo who affectionately takes good care of his subordinates. The film will see full-fledged shooting begin in September and is scheduled to hit the big screen in May of next year.

〈タイトル〉
‘Saigo’ but not least …：‘西郷’（最後）のお待ちかね・・・
"Last but not least"（最後だが決して軽んじられない）という表現に掛けています。表彰式などの場面で最後の人の名前を挙げるときに必ず耳にする表現です。ここ最近で渾身の出来栄えのタイトルです（笑）！

この西郷役のオーディションには筆者の知り合いも応募していたようですが、敢えなく書類審査で落選しました。。。因みに、GAiGO NEWSでもお伝えしたとおり、鹿児島を舞台にした「鹿児島三部作」の2作目（1作目は昨年公開の「チェスト！」）で、火山めぐりヨットレースを題材にした映画「海の金魚」では、鹿児島外語学院（GAiGO）の全日制の学生が主役！？と準主役！？として出演しています。映画の最後のクレジットにも「鹿児島外語学院」と表示されます。公開は来年3月の予定です。是非お見逃しなく！
